As per DoPT instructions, we have referred the matter to Delhi Police.”
The complaint was referred to police on November 24. On Monday, the police contacted the victim.
The woman was employed in DDA in April 2014 after the death of her husband, a DDA employee, in February that year. The woman, who claims to be illiterate, alleged that she was also blackmailed.
While DDA transferred her to a different workspace within the organisation on her request, no internal inquiry or departmental action was started against the employees she had accused. So far, the matter has not been referred to
Internal Complaints Committee on sexual harassment cases of DDA.
Singh has also ordered an inquiry into the allegation of non-payment of salary. DDA officials confirmed that she got salary only for the first two or three months in 2014. But in February 2015, she was posted to a different office.
Gandhi said, “An inquiry has been ordered. Her salary will be released soon.”
DDA has got all her attendance records from the department where she was posted earlier. “We have got her absentee statements and muster roll details from the department. As per record, her name was there in the muster roll till January 2016. We have initiated the process to release her salary for the period for which we have her attendance details,” said a DDA official.
